LEAD GHLAT

Lead Acetate (commonly known in Egyptian pharmacies as Lead Ghlat or Khalat El-Rassas) is a traditional topical astringent and cooling solution. It is historically used as a wet dressing or compress to help soothe localized skin inflammations, minor swelling, bruises, and insect bites. Due to the potential toxicity associated with lead absorption, its use has significantly declined in modern medicine, and it must be used with extreme caution, only externally, and never on open wounds or broken skin.
